AED – The Pre-Med Honor Society is for anyone considering becoming a physician in the future. Meet other pre-med students and learn about how to prepare for a career in medicine. Contact aed@umn.edu.

AMSA Premed – The American Medical Student Association is a national pre-med student group that helps students connect with students who share their interests in the health sciences and helps prepare members for medical school and the MCAT. Contact premed@umn.edu.

Biochemistry Club – The Biochemistry Club was organized to connect undergraduate students with the research opportunities at the U of M and to prepare them for careers in the research industry, medicine, or other professional fields. Contact biochem@umn.edu.

Biological Science Journal Club – The purpose of the Biological Science Journal Club is to provide students with experience in interpreting scientific journal articles. Students will have an opportunity to practice reading and discussing journal articles, and give informal presentations on articles of their choice. Contact bsjclub@umn.edu.

Biology Club – The Biology Club is a great group for all students who would like to explore the majors, careers, and research opportunities available in CBS. Club events include a mix of social and academic activities, featuring a different CBS major each month. Email Diem at ngox0082@umn.edu.

Biology Hoopla Club – A club to increase awareness of biology-themed activities and provide communal recreation for students in biology. Email Wyatt Bordewyk at bord0080@umn.edu.

Biology Without BordersBiology Without Borders was founded with the intention of getting students to participate in various biology related global volunteer opportunities while gaining experience in the health sciences. Contact bwb@umn.edu.

CBS Ambassadors – Are you interested in gaining valuable communication and leadership skills? Are you having a great experience at the University of Minnesota and the College of Biological Sciences? Do you want to tell others about it? Be a CBS Ambassador! Contact Leah Brus at brusx002@umn.edu.

CBS Student Board works collaboratively with the CBS administration, departments, and student organizations, builds community and connections among CBS students, and serves as the official student representation to the CBS Administration. Contact Tarrek at hegab002@umn.edu.

Forensic Science Club provides events, field trips, information, and a forum for speakers to members of the University community interested in forensic science. Anyone interested in forensic science is welcome to attend. Contact khanna@umn.edu.

Genetics, Cell Biology, and Development Club – The GCD Club goals are to connect students with faculty and potential employers, tour labs at the University and in local industry, provide academic support for students going on to graduate or professional school, and get students involved with intramural sports and community service. Headwaters Ecology Club – The HEC is a great club for any student interested in ecology and the environment. HEC helps organize volunteer opportunities and field trips, and promotes the use of the Itasca Biological Station and Labs. Contact beerm002@umn.edu.

Minnesota Medical Leaders – Committed to “Developing values-based healthcare leaders by bridging the gap from ambition to action.” Members travel the world helping with healthcare issues by working in hospitals, meeting government officials and inspiring change in individuals. Members get involved with basic science and research to prepare them for the future of medicine. Resources for members include a mock AMCAS, an experiential learning database, and a textbook exchange program. Contact ellin162@umn.edu.

Minority Association of Pre-Medical StudentsMAPS is a great program designed for minority students to help prepare for the medical field. Come learn about medical school, healthcare professions and healthcare disparities from various pre-med students, graduate students, and professionals. Contact maps@umn.edu.

Microbiology Club – The Microbiology Club functions to provide students with information about the many career choices in microbiology, to get students involved in microbiology research projects, and to connect students to the many resources available through the American Society for Microbiology. Club activities include presentations by academic and industrial researchers, and field trips to local research facilities. Contact mohrx005@umn.edu.

Neuroscience Club – The Neuroscience Club promotes interest in undergraduate neuroscience study and research. Club activities include lab tours, study groups, participation in outreach projects and informal faculty-student meetings. Contact kane0169@umn.edu.

Pre-Dental Club – Learn more about becoming a dentist and the practice of dentistry. Get introduced to opportunities at the U of M, the American Student Dental Association, and other meet students who share your interests. Contact predent@umn.edu.

Pre-Optometry Club – Are you interested in becoming an optometrist? Would you like to learn more about the field and what it takes to become an eye doctor? The Pre-Optometry Club is a fast growing club with 25 members. We will be hosting big events in Coffman, having optometrists come speak to the club, and visiting optometrists’ offices in the local area. Contact preop@umn.edu.

Pre-Physician Assistant Club – Are you interested in becoming a physician assistant? Would you like to become more knowledgeable about the profession? Student Society of Stem Cell Research ClubSSSCR-UM is centered on the understanding that we need to educate the public to foster greater understanding and acceptance of new medical technologies that may treat and cure debilitating diseases.
