HHR23a is 40-kDa protein, containing four distinct functional and structural domains and is essential in repairing UV-damaged DNA. We have applied NMR techniques to obtain the solution structure of hHR23a and to study its internal dynamics. Our data indicate that the different regions within this protein experience different motions and that one of the domains may undergo conformational changes during its interaction with the other domains.
