The graduate program in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biophysics is flexible enough to accommodate students with a wide variety of educational backgrounds. We encourage applications from students with undergraduate or master's degrees in biological, chemical or physical sciences. International students have greater success being admitted with an M.S. degree. Academic preparation for the Ph.D. degree must include course work in organic chemistry, calculus, and biochemistry. Students are strongly encouraged to complete courses in physics, physical chemistry and/or molecular biology.
